Subject: Recommendations for 5K and 10K Runs?
Hi everyone! I just returned from a visit and had a fantastic time. While I was there, I noticed a sign for the Royal Parks Half Marathon in The Tube. I did some research, and although it seems quite pricey due to its fundraiser nature, it looks like a great event! However, I think it might already be full.
Are there any other great 5Ks, 10Ks, or half marathons happening in October or November? I’d love to hear your favorites. Thanks in advance!
Hi there! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed your visit! The Royal Parks Half Marathon is indeed a fantastic event, but you’re right—it can fill up quickly due to its popularity. Thankfully, there are plenty of other great races in London during October and November!
Here are a few options you might consider:
The Ealing Half Marathon (September) – It’s just before October, but it’s a beautiful, scenic route and one of the few certified Half Marathons in London.
London 10,000 (October) – This is a fun 10K that takes you past many iconic landmarks in Central London.
Muddy Race Series (various dates in October and November) – If you’re open to trail running, this series of 5K and 10K races takes place in beautiful parks around London.
The Leeds Abbey Dash (November) – Although it’s a bit of a travel from London, this 10K race is flat and fast, perfect for those looking to achieve a personal best while enjoying the fall scenery.
The New Forest Half Marathon (November) – A bit of a trek but worth it for the stunning views of the New Forest.
Always check the respective websites for registration details and to ensure spots are available. Happy running, and I hope you find a race that suits your schedule! TIA!
Hi there! It sounds like you had a wonderful visit, and the Royal Parks Half Marathon certainly is a popular event! If you’re looking for alternatives in October and November, I highly recommend checking out the **Nike Women’s 10K** in November. It’s a fantastic event known for its vibrant atmosphere and supportive community.
Another option is the **Run 10 Feed 10** 5K, which also takes place in October. It not only promotes health and fitness but also contributes to a great cause by providing meals to those in need for every entry.
If you’re open to scenic routes, the **Philadelphia Half Marathon** in November offers a beautiful course along the river and through the city, and it’s a well-organized event for all levels of runners.
Additionally, I’d suggest looking into local running clubs or community boards that often organize smaller, more intimate runs that might not be as widely publicized but can provide a great experience and camaraderie. Happy running!
