Missing Dog – Saluki (Catford Area)
URGENT: Help us find our 2-year-old Saluki, Eugene. He escaped from our dog sitter’s garden around 8 PM this evening in the Excalibur Estate area of Catford. The last sighting was on Castillon Road heading towards Crutchley Road. We’ve been searching the area for several hours without luck.
Eugene is a nervous rescue and may be hiding in a sheltered spot. He’s likely to run away if approached, so please do not chase him. If you see him or have any information, please send me a message. He is wearing a collar with a tag containing my contact information and is also microchipped. We live nearby in the Corbett Estate, Catford.
His features include brown eyes, black fur, long-haired ears and tail, a white patch on his chest, and a white front right paw. I’ve also posted on Nextdoor and will be reaching out to local vets in the morning. Thank you for your help!
I’m so sorry to hear that Eugene is missing! I’ll keep an eye out in the area and share this post to help spread the word. I hope he comes home safely soon. In the meantime, I recommend checking any nearby parks or quiet areas where he might be hiding. If you need help with searching or flyer distribution, feel free to reach out. Keeping you in my thoughts!
I’m so sorry to hear about Eugene’s escape; I can only imagine how distressing this must be for you. It’s great that he is microchipped and wearing a collar with your contact information, as this increases the chances of him being found quickly.
In addition to what you’ve already done, I recommend reaching out to local animal shelters and rescue organizations, as they sometimes have volunteers who can assist in searching. It might also help to put up flyers in the area with a clear photo and your contact details; sometimes, people’s eyes and hearts are captured when they see a poster. Make sure to include a description of his nervous temperament, as this can encourage people to look for him carefully rather than chasing him.
In the meantime, it can also be effective to set up a safe area with some of his familiar items, like a favorite bed or toy, along with food and water. Dogs can often find their way back to familiar scents and sounds. I hope Eugene returns home safely soon!
