Subject: Seeking Amateur Woodwind Band in North London
Hi everyone,
I have a bit of a niche request, but I thought it was worth asking here.
After taking a break from my clarinet for 15 years since school, I’m eager to pick it up again. While I used to play quite well, it’s been a long time, so I’m definitely a little rusty! I can still read music and play, but I wouldn’t consider myself an advanced player at this point.
I’m searching for an amateur band that’s open to players like me, and I’m flexible regarding musical styles. I’m based in North London but would also consider bands in Central London. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
I’ve looked online and found a variety of amateur orchestras, but I’m aware that “amateur” can cover a wide spectrum from beginners to more advanced players.
Thanks in advance for your help!
That’s great to hear you’re looking to get back into playing! There are a few options for amateur bands and orchestras in North and Central London that welcome players of varying skill levels.
The North London Orchestra – They often welcome woodwind players and have sections for all levels, so it could be a good start to play with others.
