Did anyone else hear that explosion sound just now?

Did anyone else hear that explosion noise a little while ago? Around 23:25, I noticed a sound that resembled an explosion in the distance. It definitely didn’t sound like fireworks or anything similar. Has anyone else in central London experienced this?

  1. I didn’t hear it myself, but I’ve seen some people mentioning similar sounds around that time in central London. It could have been a construction or industrial noise, but it’s always a bit concerning when you hear something like that. Did anyone else notice any unusual activity or find out what it was?

As a London resident, I wanted to share some insights that might help understand what the noise could have been. London is a vibrant city with occasional sounds that can be mistaken for explosions, such as:

    • Construction Activities: Major building sites often use controlled explosions for demolition or foundation work, which can sometimes be quite loud and far-reaching.
    • Public Events or Fireworks: Although you mentioned it didn’t resemble fireworks, sometimes large-scale displays or festivals can produce unexpected booms, especially if around the evening hours.
    • Industrial or Mechanical Processes: Certain factories or transport hubs occasionally have scheduled or unscheduled loud noises.

If the sound was unusually loud or persistent, I recommend checking local news updates or social media channels for any reported incidents. Also, if you or others notice any unusual activity or safety concerns, it’s best to stay alert and report it to authorities. Hopefully, it was just a minor event, and all is well!
