Help me find a pub to spend my birthday in

Looking for pub recommendations for my birthday celebration!

I’m about to turn 37 in less than a week. Honestly, I don’t feel strongly about it—neither upset nor particularly excited about aging. It’s been a challenging year for me, so I’d like to keep things low-key with just a few close friends and family. However, I’d rather not end up at my usual local spot.

Here’s what I’m hoping to find:
– Ideally, a place that doesn’t require a reservation. I’ve invited around 10 people on short notice, and it could even be smaller than that.
– Looking for a medium level of busyness. I know it’s going to be crowded this Friday, but I’m not keen on a super trendy place.
– Bonus points for somewhere quirky! I’m open to interesting locations, even if they’re a little out of the ordinary.

Most of my friends are located south, so I’m mainly considering central London, but I’m open to suggestions further afield.

If you have any recommendations, I’d really appreciate it! Thank you!
