Help me locate this place!
I have a vivid memory of a spot I frequented as a child. It features a pathway with stunning views, plus stairs that lead up to a park overlooking central London and the River Thames from a height (it’s not a terrace or anything). At the bottom, there’s a flower garden and a field, along with a great view of the Thames. I’m pretty sure it’s somewhere in south London (my instinct says around Richmond). I realize this description is quite vague, but if anyone has any clues or suggestions, I’d really appreciate it, as I’d love to visit again. Thanks!
Based on your description, it sounds like you might be thinking of Richmond Hill or possibly the viewpoints around Richmond Park or the Terrace Gardens in Richmond. Richmond Hill offers stunning views over the Thames and has a lovely pathway and gardens. The area around the viewpoint known as “The White Lodge” also has lovely flower gardens and is a popular spot for scenery. If you remember any specific landmarks or features, that might help narrow it down even further, but Richmond and its surrounding parks seem like a great place to start your search!
