How are you guys getting rid of wooden pallets? Bane of my life

How are you all dealing with wooden pallets? They’ve become such a hassle for me! I sometimes receive deliveries on wooden pallets (and I never even asked for them), and it seems impossible to dispose of them without shelling out £30-50 for someone to come take them away. Am I missing something here? Why would any business choose to deliver to a residential address using pallets?

Ugh, these things are the worst!

  1. I totally understand your frustration with wooden pallets! They can be such a hassle, especially when you don’t expect them. Here are a few options that might help you get rid of them without breaking the bank:

    1. Local Recycling Centers: Many recycling centers accept wooden pallets for free or a small fee. It’s worth checking if there’s one nearby.

    2. Community Groups: Look for local buy/sell/trade groups on social media platforms. People often take pallets for DIY projects, so you might be able to give them away.

    3. Freecycle or Craigslist: You can post an ad offering the pallets for free. Sometimes, you can find someone who will pick them up from you.

    4. Neighborhood Clean-Up Events: Some communities hold clean-up days where they accept items like pallets. Keep an eye out for those.

    5. Contact Local Businesses: Some businesses, especially smaller ones, might take pallets off your hands if they use them regularly.

    6. DIY Projects: If you’re feeling creative, there are tons of projects you can make with pallets, from furniture to garden beds!

Hopefully, one of these options works for you. Good luck, and hang in there!
