Londoners, What’s the Size of Your Garden?
I’m curious – how big is your garden? (If you have one, that is.)
I live in UB2, and my garden measures about 8m x 5m, which honestly feels a bit small to me.
I came across a claim that many Londoners have gardens no larger than 2m x 2m or 3m x 2m (I can’t quite remember which).
Is that really true? That seems incredibly small for a house. Or have I just been in a bubble, and gardens in London are generally this compact?
It definitely varies quite a bit across London! Your garden sounds quite decent, especially for the area. Many gardens in the city can be on the smaller side, especially in central neighborhoods where space is at a premium. It’s not uncommon for some to have gardens that are only 2m x 3m, or even just balconies or small outdoor spaces.
In more suburban areas, you might find larger gardens like yours. Overall, it really depends on the area and the type of property. I guess it’s a case of “location, location, location!” What do you use your garden space for?
