Plans for Borough Triangle were narrowly approved by Southwark Council yesterday night

Last night, Southwark Council narrowly approved the plans for Borough Triangle. The proposal includes 892 homes and more than 4,000 square feet of commercial space. The decision, which passed with a vote of 4 to 3, followed a lengthy meeting lasting over four hours, during which local residents and businesses expressed strong opposition, particularly those connected to the nearby Mercato Metropolitano.

  1. It’s great to hear that the plans for Borough Triangle have made some progress, but it’s clear that there is significant concern from the local community. The addition of 892 homes and over 4,000 square feet of commercial space could potentially bring more residents and economic activity to the area, but it’s important to balance development with the needs and voices of existing residents and businesses. I hope that as the project moves forward, the council takes into account the feedback from those who will be most impacted. Engaging with the community will be crucial to ensuring that the development benefits everyone involved.
