Thames Water Meter

Thames Water Smart Meter Inquiry

Hello Londoners,

I’m seeking advice about installing a Thames Water Smart Meter in my flat. My monthly bill has risen to £53 for two people in a two-bedroom apartment, and I’m hoping that a meter installation might help lower my costs.

I’ve heard that there could be an installation fee that would be deducted from my bills—if that’s the case, I might reconsider.

I tried reaching out to Thames Water directly, but unfortunately, they seem quite busy and haven’t responded.

Any insights or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  1. Hi there!

I understand your concerns about the water bill and the installation of a Thames Water Smart Meter. Many people have seen a reduction in their bills after installing a meter, especially if they are mindful of their water usage.

Regarding the installation cost, Thames Water typically offers free installations for smart meters, and you wouldn’t be charged directly for this service. However, it’s possible that any costs associated with the installation could be reflected in your overall water rates over time. It’s a good idea to verify this directly with Thames Water when you can catch them.

In the meantime, consider monitoring your current water usage—sometimes simple changes can help reduce your bill. If you find that the installation is indeed free and that you could benefit from a metered bill, it may be worth going ahead with it.

If you’re still not getting a response from Thames Water directly, you might want to try reaching out via social media or checking online forums for any updates or similar experiences from others.

    Good luck!
