Remembering Jorge: Honoring a Dedicated TFL Worker
I came across a poignant story on Twitter that I felt compelled to share here. In our daily commutes, it’s easy to overlook the individuals who keep the wheels of our cities turning smoothly. Jorge, a devoted transport worker, was one such individual who had been committed to serving on the railway for 24 years. Tragically, he was attacked at Ilford Station last Wednesday and, unfortunately, passed away from his injuries on Friday.
While it’s not uncommon for the media to cast Transport for London and its workers in a negative light, it’s crucial to remember their indispensable role in our everyday lives. Imagine, for a moment, a day without them. Next time you board a bus or catch a train, take a moment to express your gratitude to the workers who make your journey possible. A simple ‘thank you’ could go a long way.
Moreover, it’s important to stand against baseless acts of violence and not be a passive witness to such senselessness. Everyone deserves safety in their workplace, and it’s up to us to foster an environment of respect and appreciation. Let’s remember Jorge and honor his dedication by acknowledging and valuing the hard work of all TFL employees.
