Going to see Oasis in July and now it’s turning into a weeklong trip. Any tips for a first-time visitor or recommendations to pad out my itinerary based on my interests?

Planning My Dream Trip to London: A Week of Music, Culture, and Adventure

Hello, fellow travelers!

I am thrilled to share that I’ll be attending an Oasis concert at Wembley in July, but what started as a simple weekend visit is now blossoming into a week-long adventure! As someone who has always been captivated by the UK culture—growing up as an Anglophile—I see this as the perfect opportunity to immerse myself in everything this vibrant country has to offer.

I’ll be arriving on July 22nd and wrapping up my trip around July 30th, and I’ve got a few key dates already in mind. The weekend of July 25th to July 27th will primarily revolve around my visit to London. I have tickets for the Oasis show on Friday the 25th, and on Sunday the 27th, I’ll be heading to Camden to catch a Progress Wrestling event, as I’m a big fan of pro wrestling. I’m also considering a tour of Battersea Power Station—my passion for architecture is steering me this way—but I may have to finalize that plan depending on ticket availability.

While I’m still piecing together my itinerary, I would love to receive some recommendations and tips from seasoned travelers, particularly for first-timers like myself. Here’s a brief overview of the places I’m considering:

  • The British Museum and the Tower of London: I’ve heard repeatedly that these iconic landmarks are a must-see. It sounds like visiting both could easily take up a full day.

  • Seven Sisters: Originally, I was leaning towards the Cliffs of Dover, but I’ve been told that the Seven Sisters cliffs might be a more enjoyable experience.

  • The Tank Museum: Being a bit of a nerd when it comes to military history and aviation, I think this would be fascinating! I realize it’s somewhat remote, so I’m open to an overnight stay in Dorset to explore it further.

  • Imperial War Museum: My late father often spoke highly of this institution, and it feels like a meaningful way to honor his memory by visiting.

  • Forbidden Planet: I’ve heard it’s one of the largest comic book stores globally, and as a fan of comics, I’m excited to check it out.

I’m eager to connect these dots in my itinerary, but I prefer not to strictly schedule every hour. I want the flexibility to wander and discover spontaneous experiences. Here’s a little insight
