Bread Street Kitchen (Gordon Ramsay’s Restaurant), London. £19

A Disappointing Morning at Bread Street Kitchen: A Review

Recently, I had the opportunity to dine at the renowned Bread Street Kitchen, the brainchild of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, located in the bustling area of Liverpool Street, London. I was there for a business breakfast meeting, and given the establishment’s reputation, my expectations were set high.

However, the reality of my breakfast experience was somewhat lackluster. For £19, I received a fried breakfast that, quite frankly, left much to be desired. It appeared as if it had been hastily assembled, lacking the vibrant appeal one would anticipate from Ramsay’s culinary standards. Imagine Gordon Ramsay himself dining at an average hotel restaurant and being served this underwhelming plate during one of his Kitchen Nightmares episodes—his reaction would undoubtedly be explosive!

As I pondered over the presentation, I couldn’t help but reflect on the traditional elements of a full English breakfast. One question lingered in my mind: should bacon be served crispy, in true American style, or is there merit to the softer, more traditional approach? Personally, I lean toward the latter, inviting a varied texture among the breakfast components.

In conclusion, while the ambiance of Bread Street Kitchen was inviting and the service was commendable, my breakfast experience unfortunately fell short of the mark. For the price point, I expected a dish that not only satisfied but also thrilled the palate. Here’s hoping for a better experience on my next visit!
