Anyone else feel like South London busses are getting even worse than usual?

Frustrations with South London Buses: An Ongoing Struggle

Living in South East London has its charm, but lately, the experience of using local buses has become increasingly frustrating. As someone who has resided in this vibrant area for around eight years, I’ve noticed a significant decline in bus service reliability over the past month.

It seems that many bus routes in my vicinity are facing persistent disruptions. It’s not just a minor inconvenience; these buses seldom complete their intended routes and often take unexpected detours without any clear communication about diversions. For commuters like myself, who rely on these buses for daily transportation, this unpredictability can lead to serious challenges, particularly when trying to get to work on time.

Take my usual bus route, for example. It’s supposed to arrive every eight minutes, providing a sense of reliability in my morning routine. However, just this morning, I was informed that my bus would take 18 minutes to arrive, followed shortly after by another update that it would actually be another eight minutes. It didn’t end there; soon, it turned into a staggering 25-minute wait. What started as a manageable eight-minute interval ultimately stretched to a frustrating 50 minutes.

Such delays make it incredibly difficult to rely on public transport, particularly when one’s job depends on punctuality. I’m not alone in these concerns; many residents share similar experiences and frustrations. Here’s hoping for improvements soon, as a reliable public transport system is essential for all of us who depend on it.
