Just a Little Time in London on October 26: I Made Some Bookings – Please Let Me Know If I’ve Made Any Mistakes :)

Quick Trip to London: Seeking Advice on My Accommodation Choices

I’m excited to share that I’ll be visiting London on October 26 for a show at the O2 and have lined up a few cozy accommodations for my stay. I would love your insights—did I make smart choices or should I rethink any of them?

For my brief trip, I decided it might be advantageous to stay in smaller, more intimate settings, particularly above some local pubs. My reservation list includes:

  • Above the Pilot: This spot is conveniently located near the O2, making it a great base for the night of the show.

  • Princess Royal in Notting Hill: This area is known for its vibrant atmosphere and charming streets.

  • The Orange in Belgravia: A well-regarded pub that promises a delightful experience in one of London’s most elegant neighborhoods.

  • The Grazing Goat in Marylebone: Renowned for its mix of traditional and modern appeal, this pub is another great pick.

I’m generally a sound sleeper, so I’m not too worried about noise, but I would appreciate any feedback or tips on these locations. Have I made the right decisions, or is there something I should reconsider?

Thank you for your time and input—it’s much appreciated as I prepare for my London adventure!

  1. Great choices for your London stay! As a fellow London resident, I’d like to share some insights that might help you make the most of your trip.

Staying above local pubs can offer a cozy, authentic experience, but a few tips might enhance your visit:

    Location Considerations

    • Proximity to transport: All your chosen locations are quite central, which is excellent for quick access around London. Ensure your accommodations are close to Tube stations for maximum convenience.
    • Notting Hill & Belgravia: Both areas are fantastic for their charm, but Notting Hill can be bustling, especially on weekends. If you prefer a quieter experience, Belgravia offers a peaceful, upscale vibe.

    Accommodation Above Pubs

    • Noise Levels: Even if you’re a sound sleeper, some pubs might have lively nights, especially on weekends. Confirm if your booking includes good soundproofing or if you might be exposed to late-night noise.
    • Authenticity & Comfort: Staying above pubs can be immersive but check reviews for comfort and amenities to ensure a good night’s sleep after your adventures.
