So I did my mega walk

A Memorable Urban Adventure: My Journey Through London

I recently embarked on an incredible walking expedition that took me across some of London’s most captivating sights. I’m excited to share the details of this unique experience with you, and I hope to inspire your next city exploration!

Starting at King’s Cross, I made my way toward the picturesque canals of Little Venice, soaking in the charming surroundings. Following a beautiful stroll, I found myself at Paul Rothe & Sons, where I indulged in a delicious sandwich that I enjoyed in the serene Grosvenor Square.

After a satisfying lunch, I decided to meander through some lesser-known streets, leading me to the tranquil Green Park and then onto the magnificent St. James’s Park. Each step was filled with delightful discoveries and moments of serenity amidst the bustling city.

My journey eventually took me to Victoria, where I had to pick up my daughter’s phone after a battery replacement. Following that, I ventured towards the iconic Battersea Power Station. After a long walk, I opted to grab a refreshing beer from a nearby shop before heading to Battersea Park. Here, I stumbled upon a lively cricket match, which was a delightful surprise that kept me entertained for a while.

However, by the time I reached Chelsea Bridge, my lower back began to protest the long hours of walking. It was a clear signal that I’d covered quite a distance—approximately nine miles and a breathtaking 30,000 steps!

One poignant highlight from my day was encountering a gentleman living by the canal, who had constructed a cozy bed with low cardboard walls around it. It was a touching reminder of both resilience and creativity in the face of adversity.

Overall, I would rate this adventure an enjoyable 8 out of 10. There’s something undeniably rewarding about exploring a city on foot; the connections made with the surroundings and the stories discovered along the way make it all worthwhile. Until next time, London, I’ll be back for more exploration!
