Upcoming Casual Tech Meetup in London: Connect, Collaborate, and Share Side Projects
Are you a developer, coder, or tech enthusiast based in London looking to expand your network and share your side projects? We’re excited to announce an informal meetup designed for professionals and hobbyists alike to connect over technology, ideas, and innovation.
About the Event
This gathering aims to foster a relaxed environment where participants can discuss side projects, explore new tools, brainstorm ideas, or simply geek out over their current work. There’s no pressure to code or prepare anything in advance—just come as you are, enjoy some good company, and see if there’s a shared vibe to build upon.
If the response is positive, we’re considering making this a recurring event—potentially weekly or bi-weekly—giving attendees a consistent space to collaborate and inspire each other.
Venue Details
The meetup will be held at Foyles café, located on the 5th floor of the bookstore at Charing Cross Road. The venue offers ample seating, a comfortable atmosphere, and convenient access via the Tottenham Court Road tube station. Past meetups in this location have been successful, making it an ideal spot to gather.

Excited About the London Tech Meetup!
This sounds like a fantastic opportunity for London’s vibrant tech community to come together. I’ve been based in the city for several years and have noticed that informal meetups like this really help foster collaboration and innovation outside of traditional office environments.
For those attending, I recommend bringing along specific side projects or challenges you’re working on. Sometimes, sharing a problem can spark new ideas or even lead to fruitful collaborations. Also, consider preparing a quick demo or overview of your project—it can make conversations more engaging and productive.
Since the venue is at Foyles on Charing Cross Road, it’s conveniently accessible via Tottenham Court Road station, which is great for attracting attendees from across London. Perhaps in future iterations, exploring other diverse locations like co-working spaces in East London could also help involve different sectors of the city’s tech scene.
Looking forward to seeing how these meetups develop. Regular gatherings could really strengthen London’s tech community and even inspire some cross-sector innovations. Count me in for the 29th if that gets the most votes!
Great initiative! Enhancing London’s tech community one meetup at a time
As a long-time resident of London and an active member of the local tech scene, I think these casual meetups are invaluable for fostering collaboration and innovation. Bringing together developers, hobbyists, and professionals in a relaxed environment not only sparks new ideas but also helps build lasting connections across different sectors.
For anyone new to the scene, I recommend trying to engage in discussions even if it’s just to share insights or ask questions—London’s diverse tech community always welcomes fresh perspectives. Additionally, venues like Foyles are fantastic for creating a comfortable space that encourages open conversations over coffee or a light snack.
