I’m a 19 year old Aussie guy and need help deciding on a place to stay in London

Choosing the Perfect Stay in London: A Young Traveler’s Dilemma

As a young Australian traveler excited about exploring Europe, I’m eagerly anticipating my upcoming Contiki tour at the end of this year. After soaking in the diverse cultures and experiences across the continent, I plan to extend my journey with a five-day stay in London from December 5th to 10th. This extended visit will allow me to embark on day trips to historic locations like Bath and Oxford, although I’m open to other suggestions!

Finding the right accommodation is a crucial part of my travel planning, especially since my budget is quite tight after my European adventure. Since my itinerary may leave me feeling fatigued from all the partying, I’m looking for a low-key environment where I can unwind, wander through shops, and enjoy a few dinners and drinks at authentic British pubs. Although I have been to London before and don’t feel the need to hit every major site, I do want a convenient base, especially since I have an early morning flight back home and need easy access to Heathrow.

I’ve narrowed my options down to a few places within my budget, and I could use some assistance in making the right choice.

Option 1: The Kings Arms, Ealing

Located right next to Ealing Broadway station, this charming accommodation offers easy access to the Elizabeth Line, making it a breeze to travel into central London. However, I must consider that getting to Bath or Oxford would require returning to Paddington station. Priced at around £415 total with complimentary breakfast included, the Kings Arms promises a quintessentially English experience, being situated above a pub. While it’s cost-effective and offers seamless travel back to Heathrow, Ealing is a suburban area that may lack the vibrant atmosphere I’d prefer.

Option 2: The Crestfield Hotel, Kings Cross

Positioned just across from Kings Cross station, this hotel provides excellent transportation links. Nevertheless, it seems that most day trips I’m considering depart from Paddington station, which could complicate my plans. Kings Cross is centrally located and reportedly a lively neighborhood frequented by my age group, plus Camden Town’s renowned bars and live music are close by. However, the Crestfield Hotel is slightly pricier at about £460, doesn’t include breakfast, and the rooms look quite small and less appealing. Reaching Heathrow from here may also be an inconvenience.

Option 3: Premier Inn Hub, Paddington
