Seeking Advice on Choosing My Perfect London Holiday Week

Planning a Week in London: Seeking Your Recommendations!

Hello everyone!

I am excited to share that I will be spending an entire week in London at the beginning of August! After securing my flight tickets and booking a cozy flat just 50 meters from Russell Square Station, I’m diving into planning my itinerary. I must admit, I’m feeling both exhilarated and overwhelmed—there’s just so much to see!

As this is my first visit to London, I know I won’t be able to fit everything into my schedule, and I won’t have the chance to venture outside the city this time around. I’ve curated a list of places that appeal to my interests, which lean heavily toward cultural landmarks as well as some offbeat experiences. If you have any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated!

My Itinerary Highlights

Free Attractions:
– National Gallery (I plan to visit at least twice!)
– British Museum (1 or 2 visits)
– Natural History Museum
– Tate Modern
Borough Market (in place of Camden Town)
– Chinatown
British Library
SOAS Gallery
Notting Hill
Wallace Collection
National Portrait Gallery
Potentially Greenwich?
Exploring the city on foot with possible walking tours and concerts
Soane Museum

Guided Tours:
– Highgate Cemetery

With the London Pass (considering a 3 or 4-day option):
– ~~Madame Tussauds~~ (not feeling it!)
– Westminster Abbey
– Saint Paul’s Cathedral
– ~~Zoo~~ (maybe next time)
London Bridge Experience
– Frameless Experience
– ~~Windsor Castle~~
– ~~Pub Crawl Tour~~ (I’m planning to visit the pub solo!)
– Courtauld Gallery
– ~~Hampton Court or Kensington Palace~~
– Tower of London
Shakespeare’s Globe

Having recently explored Florence, where everything is conveniently walkable, I realize that the vastness of London will require a different approach. Do you think I might be aiming too high? Is my planned itinerary realistic given the time I have?

I truly appreciate any advice you can share! I’m looking forward to immersing myself in the vibrancy of London and connecting with its wonderful people. Please contribute your thoughts and any unique experiences you might suggest, especially if they involve museums or the delightfully eerie!

Thank you all for your support
