Surprising My Wife with a London Getaway: Seeking Your Recommendations!
I’m planning a surprise trip for my wife to London, and I could use some assistance in making it truly special. She has a profound affection for England and has long dreamed of experiencing its rich culture. Her interests range from the royal family to the enchanting world of Harry Potter—she still enjoys reading those beloved books!
While my own enthusiasm for Paris isn’t as strong, I discovered that Costco offers a great package deal for airfare, accommodations, and even a train ride to Paris. The plan is to spend four wonderful days in London followed by two days in Paris. This package also includes a $400 credit for tours through a company called Golden Tours, which we’re likely going to use for a visit to Windsor Castle and the historic baths.
When it comes to planning our London itinerary, I know that visiting sites connected to Harry Potter is a must for her, as well as anything related to British royalty, like Anne Boleyn and the rich history that surrounds her. My wife is a huge history enthusiast, and I share her appreciation for the past, so exploring historical sites will be a priority.
Although our four days may seem limited, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or tips! Given that this is meant to be a surprise, I can’t just ask her what she wants to see or do, which makes planning a bit tricky. I personally would love to explore the countryside up north, which appears stunning, but that may not be feasible this time. Bodiam Castle in the south sounds amazing, but I’m uncertain about the logistics of arranging that visit.
I also want to mention that I’m considering a trip during late April. Is that a wise choice regarding weather? I aim to avoid peak tourist season, hoping for fewer crowds, but don’t want to deal with frigid temperatures.
Thank you in advance for your insights and advice! Your support means a lot in making this surprise trip a memorable experience for my wife.

Regarding your timing in late April, the weather tends to be mild, averaging between 10°C to 16°C (50°F to 60°F). It’s generally a good period before peak summer crowds, especially if you pick weekdays for popular sights. Just remember to pack layers and an umbrella, as spring can be
