Visiting UK for the first time in 3 Weeks! Nervous about safety and travel questions.

First Trip to the UK: Seeking Safety Tips and Travel Advice

Hello, fellow travelers!

I’m excited to share that I’ll be embarking on my maiden journey to the United Kingdom in just three weeks! However, I must admit that I am feeling a bit apprehensive as my departure date draws near.

Recently, I’ve encountered discussions online regarding troubling incidents, particularly involving racism and theft, which has left me wondering about safety during my visit. As someone of Chinese descent, I’d appreciate any insights into this matter. Should I be seriously concerned, or is it manageable for tourists?

In addition to safety, I have some logistical questions regarding train travel. For my itinerary, I’m looking to confirm whether I need to secure train tickets in advance for the following routes:

  • From Heathrow Airport to West Kingsdown (near Brands Hatch)
  • From West Kingsdown to Milton Keynes (for the British Grand Prix)
  • From Milton Keynes to London (spending one night)
  • From London to Chichester (for the Goodwood Festival of Speed)
  • And finally, returning from Chichester to Heathrow Airport

I would greatly appreciate any tips, advice, or personal experiences you can share to help ease my concerns and optimize my travel plans. Thank you in advance for your guidance!
