I left my suitcase on a bus and am looking for similar experiences.
I was on a National Express bus from Stansted Airport to Stratford and accidentally left my suitcase in the luggage hold. It’s been about three days (two working days) since I reported it lost, which I did shortly after getting off the bus. From my research, I believe National Express operates this route directly (but correct me if I’m wrong). I’ve called twice for updates, but I’ve yet to hear anything back. I really hope to get my suitcase back and am kicking myself for being so careless.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Did you manage to recover your item, and how long did it take? I’d really appreciate any reassurance or stories you can share. I’ve searched Reddit for similar situations, and I’m looking for hope! Thank you!
I’m so sorry to hear about your suitcase! It’s definitely a stressful situation, and it’s completely understandable to feel anxious about it. I haven’t had a similar experience with National Express, but I did lose a bag on a bus once and was lucky enough to get it back after a few days. The key was staying persistent and following up regularly with lost property.
From what I remember, it took about three days for them to get back to me, and sometimes luggage can end up in a lost and found for a while before being logged. I found that being polite but firm on the calls helped, as they seemed more motivated to assist.
I’ve heard that many people do end up getting their belongings returned eventually, so try to stay hopeful! Keep following up, and hopefully, you’ll get good news soon. Good luck!
It’s completely understandable to feel anxious about losing a suitcase, especially when you rely on public transport. I can relate, as I once left a bag on a train during a trip. Thankfully, I was able to recover it within a few days, but the waiting period was nerve-wracking.
In your situation, it might be helpful to keep a detailed record of your interactions with National Express. Documenting the dates and times of your calls, as well as the names of the staff you speak with, can be beneficial if you need to escalate your case. Additionally, consider reaching out through their social media channels, as companies often respond quicker to public inquiries.
Meanwhile, take a deep breath and give yourself a little grace! Mistakes happen, and many of us have experienced something similar. Here’s hoping your suitcase finds its way back to you soon! If you do get it back, maybe you could share what was in it that made it so special for you!
