Quick Update: My Short Visit to London in October 2026 – Booked Some Spots, Please Let Me Know if I Made Any Mistakes :)

Exploring London: A Short Visit Itinerary and Accommodation Choices

I am excited to share my upcoming trip to London this October 26th, where I have planned some intriguing activities and made a few accommodation arrangements. As a visitor looking to make the most of my brief stay, I would love your insights on my choices.

My primary reason for being in London is to catch a show at the O2 Arena, which I am eagerly anticipating. To maximize convenience, I’ve opted to stay at a cozy room above The Pilot pub for the night of the show. The atmosphere of a local pub seems like the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening.

In addition, I’ve secured accommodations at several other charming spots: The Princess Royal in Notting Hill, The Orange in Belgravia, and The Grazing Goat in Marylebone. These unique venues caught my eye for their character and local flavor.

Given my preference for a good night’s sleep—no matter the surrounding noise—I’ve chosen to stay in smaller, more intimate settings. I believe these locations will add to the overall charm of my quick London escapade.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback on my accommodation selections. Have I made good choices, or are there better options I should consider? Thank you for taking the time to assist me with this. Your insights are invaluable!

  1. Great choices for your London visit! As a local, I’d love to share some insights to enhance your trip.

Your itinerary shows a wonderful variety of neighborhoods and experiences. Staying above The Pilot pub sounds authentic and cozy, perfect for soaking up local atmosphere, especially if you enjoy a lively pub scene. Just a quick tip — make sure to confirm the noise levels if you’re a light sleeper, as pubs can sometimes be lively late into the night.

    Regarding your other accommodations:

    • The Princess Royal in Notting Hill – a fantastic choice for charm and nearby market strolls. Consider visiting Portobello Road Market if you have time.
    • The Orange in Belgravia – excellent location, safe, and elegant. Ideal for exploring central London, Buckingham Palace, and Hyde Park.
    • The Grazing Goat in Marylebone – a vibrant neighborhood with boutique shops and great cafes. Very walkable and less touristy than other central areas.

If you’re seeking good sleep and local flavor, these spots are quite suitable. However, if you want a more immersive experience, staying closer to the South Bank or Shoreditch might offer more modern vibes and artsy surroundings.

Lastly, don’t forget to use contactless payment—most places in London accept it
