New Electric Buses: A Frustrating Experience

As a mum who often travels with a pram, I find the new electric buses incredibly disappointing. Unlike their predecessors, these buses lack seats next to the pram and disabled area, leaving me to stand throughout the entire journey. However, that’s not even my biggest issue.

Recently, I’ve been taking long bus rides that last about an hour, and it has been excruciating. The brakes on these buses are so abrupt that I’m constantly tossed around, even while gripping the poles for support. With every stop, start, and turn, I find myself colliding with poles, the bus walls, my own pram, or other passengers.

I’ve even experienced slipping off my seat when the driver hit the brakes suddenly. Am I the only one facing these challenges? Has there been no feedback from others? Were these electric buses even properly tested before being rolled out?

EDIT: These issues seem primarily with the single-decker buses; I haven’t encountered many problems with the electric double-decker ones.
