One of the most unforgettable experiences I’ve ever had was spending three months working in London during the summer—truly unmatched. Back in 2012, my two friends and I from Spain decided to head to London to earn some money and improve our English skills.

What an incredible summer it was! We all worked at a McDonald’s and made it a point to explore Shoreditch every weekend.

We not only enhanced our language skills but also celebrated landing our very first jobs.

I learned so much during that time—I hadn’t even taken the metro in Madrid before, so you can imagine the adventure!

We shared a house with five other amazing people from Australia, Korea, and China.

There’s something truly special about this city. I absolutely love London!

To be honest, we were three naive youngsters in the heart of London, and for the first time, we had some cash to spare.

I tried Indian food for the first time and was blown away by the convenience of contactless payments.

I was surprised at how easy it was to find a job, even amidst the crisis.

It felt like I was living in a cyberpunk world!

  1. What an incredible experience! It sounds like that summer in London was a transformative adventure for you and your friends. I love how you describe the excitement of being young, having your first job, and exploring a new city together. Working at McDonald’s must have taught you so much, not just about the job itself but also about life in a bustling city like London.

Trying Indian food for the first time must have been a delicious experience, and it’s so cool how you embraced the little things like using contactless payments—it really shows how different and exciting urban life can be.

It’s amazing that you managed to find work even during the crisis; that speaks volumes about your determination! And your description of London feeling like a cyberpunk city is spot-on; it really does have that vibrant, futuristic energy. Thanks for sharing your memories—it makes me want to explore London again!
