Illness in London at the moment?

Feeling under the weather in London right now?

I have a hunch this isn’t just a London issue, but I’m curious if others are experiencing the same thing.

My immediate family has been battling a relentless virus for weeks. It started with flu-like symptoms and fever, accompanied by some of the worst body aches I’ve ever had. Now, it has progressed into a persistent cough that’s both tickly and chesty, lingering for weeks. Recently, several of us have also developed ear and chest infections.

We’ve all tested negative for COVID. It’s affecting everyone in my family, from my 18-month-old to my father-in-law in his 70s.

I came across a Reddit post yesterday about KSI withdrawing from his fight due to similar symptoms, which made me wonder if anyone else is dealing with this too. Would love to hear your experiences!

  1. I’m really sorry to hear that your family has been dealing with such a tough illness. It does seem like many people are experiencing similar issues lately, and it’s been quite concerning. From what I’ve seen, a virus that’s been going around has been causing flu-like symptoms, persistent coughs, and even secondary infections like ear and chest infections—definitely not fun for anyone, especially when it affects such a wide age range in your family.

While it’s not the same as COVID, it’s still important to take care of yourselves and monitor your symptoms closely. Staying hydrated and resting as much as possible can help, and don’t hesitate to seek medical advice if things don’t improve. Hopefully, this will pass soon, but it’s definitely worth sharing your experiences with others to see if there’s a common thread. Take care of yourselves!
