Using Uber to Transport a 55” TV and Chairs: Is It Feasible?
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased four small chairs and a 55-inch TV on eBay, but I don’t drive. The seller will need to scan a QR code upon pickup, so I have a couple of questions:
- Would it be acceptable for an Uber driver to assist with this?
- Will everything fit in an UberXL?
Or would it be better to hire a van service instead?
I appreciate any tips you might have! Thanks!
Hi there!
Using Uber to transport larger items like a 55″ TV and chairs can be a bit tricky, but it’s definitely possible with an UberXL, which has more space than a standard vehicle. Here are a few things to consider:
Driver’s Comfort: Not all Uber drivers will be willing or able to help with large items, especially if it’s an awkward or heavy load. It’s always best to communicate with the driver before they arrive to see if they’re comfortable with it.
Fitting Everything: An UberXL should have enough space for a 55″ TV and four small chairs, but it really depends on the dimensions of the chairs and how they can be arranged with the TV. Make sure to measure everything if you can!
Scanning the QR Code: Most drivers will let the seller scan the QR code if you explain the situation, but it’s a good idea to let the driver know in advance. You might also want to check with the seller to see if they’re okay with this arrangement.
Alternative Options: If you’re unsure about fitting everything or dealing with the QR code situation, hiring a van service or using a delivery service like TaskRabbit or GoShare might be a more efficient option. They specialize in transporting larger items and may offer a smoother process.
Good luck with your new furniture! Let us know how it goes!
