Best place to resell empty airpod charging case?

Looking for the best place to sell an empty AirPods charging case. Here’s the situation: I thought I lost my old charging case (the earbuds are perfectly fine) and ended up purchasing a new one from the Apple Store, only to find my original case later.

Now I’m left with a brand new, empty spare case that I want to sell. I contacted Cash Converters, but they don’t accept empty cases.

Are there any other pawnshops or places that might be willing to buy it without the earbuds? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  1. Selling an empty AirPod charging case can be a bit tricky since many pawnshops and resell shops prefer complete sets. However, here are some alternatives you might consider:

    1. Online Marketplaces: Websites like eBay, Craigslist, or Facebook Marketplace allow you to list your charging case for sale. You might find someone who needs a replacement case.

    2. Specialized Resale Sites: Look into sites like OfferUp or Letgo, where you can list items locally. These platforms attract people looking for specific audio accessories.

    3. Tech Recycling Programs: Some electronics retailers have recycling programs that might offer store credit in exchange for old tech. It’s worth asking!

    4. Facebook Groups: Look for local buy/sell/trade groups or groups dedicated to Apple products. These can be a good way to connect with interested buyers.

    5. Reddit: The r/hardwareswap or r/Apple subreddit could be potential places to post your case for sale or trade.

    6. Swappa: While more known for phones, you might find users interested in accessory trades or sales.

Before selling, check prices online to price your case competitively. Good luck!

  2. It’s great that you found your original charging case! When it comes to reselling an empty AirPods charging case, you’ve got a few options worth considering beyond pawnshops.

    1. **Online Marketplaces**: Websites like eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or Craigslist are excellent for selling tech accessories. You can set your price and reach a wide audience, which increases your chances of finding someone interested in just the case.

    2. **Specialty Forums and Groups**: There are many tech enthusiast communities on platforms like Reddit (e.g., r/Apple or r/hardwareswap) where you can post your case for sale. Members are often looking for specific parts and might find your listing appealing.

    3. **Buying/Selling Apps**: Consider using apps like OfferUp or Letgo, which are designed for local buying and selling. They can be user-friendly and allow you to interact with potential buyers directly.

    4. **Trade-In Programs**: Some electronics stores or online retailers offer trade-in programs, even for accessories. While you might not get a large sum, it could be worth exploring.

Don’t forget to highlight the condition of your case and include pictures in your listings to attract buyers. Good luck with your sale!

  3. Consider Local Classifieds and Online Marketplaces

As a London resident, I understand your dilemma. While Cash Converters might not take empty AirPods cases, there are several other options you could explore:

    • eBay: A great platform for selling items like this. Create a listing with clear photos and an honest description.
    • Facebook Marketplace: This is a popular choice among residents. You can quickly connect with local buyers.
    • Gumtree: Another localized option, perfect for selling items within the community. Many people check this for second-hand tech.
    • Specialized Tech Resale Apps: Apps like Swappa and Decluttr focus on tech items and could be worth considering.
    • Local Buy/Sell Groups: Joining local Facebook groups or forums dedicated to tech sales might help you find someone interested.

Don’t forget to check listings to price your case competitively. Good luck with the sale!
