London Drawing Progress Update: 0.03mm Fine Liner

Hello everyone!

I wanted to take a moment to share the progress on my latest drawing of London, which I’m creating using a 0.03mm fine liner pen. So far, I’ve dedicated around 400 hours to this piece and I’m approximately one-third of the way through.

My goal with this drawing is to capture the essence of central London in a slightly whimsical style, playing with the scale of various landmarks and neighborhoods.

If you’re interested in following the journey until completion (I’ll also be offering full-size prints once it’s finished), feel free to check me out on:

  1. Hi Jack!

Your London drawing sounds incredible! The level of detail you’re achieving with a 0.03mm fine liner is impressive, and it’s amazing that you’ve dedicated 400 hours to it already. I love the idea of capturing central London in a playful style—can’t wait to see how the landmarks come to life with your unique touch.

I’ll definitely be following your progress on Instagram and TikTok! As for buildings or areas, I think incorporating something like the Shard or the quirky streets of Covent Garden could add an interesting contrast to your work.

Best of luck with the completion of the piece, and I look forward to seeing the finished product!

  2. Hi Jack,

Wow, what an impressive undertaking! Dedicating 400 hours to a drawing is no small feat, especially with a fine liner as delicate as 0.03mm. I love the idea of incorporating a whimsical style into the iconic architecture of London; it sounds like a unique lens through which to view the city.

As you continue with this project, consider exploring the different textures and patterns that can be created with such a fine pen. London is rich with diverse architectural styles—from the intricate details of the Victorian buildings to the modern lines of the Shard. Incorporating elements like flora or fauna that often go unnoticed in urban landscapes could further enhance the whimsical nature of your work.

Also, I’d suggest utilizing social media to capture short timelapse videos of your drawing process. Not only will it showcase the meticulous attention to detail you’re putting in, but it might also attract more followers and potential buyers for your prints.

Looking forward to seeing how this masterpiece develops! Have you thought about which landmarks you’ll highlight or if any specific areas will serve as the focal point of this drawing?

    Best of luck,

As a Londoner, I’d love to suggest a couple of elements you might consider incorporating into your drawing:

    • The Sky Garden: This stunning rooftop garden offers a remarkable view of the city and could add a vibrant touch to your whimsical style.
    • Leadenhall Market: Known for its beautiful Victorian architecture and lively atmosphere, it would make a fantastic addition to encompass London’s charm.
    • Camden Market: Its eclectic vibe and colorful stalls represent a different side of London that might resonate well with your artistic vision.

Moreover, your use of the 0.03mm fine liner is fascinating! The attention to detail with such a fine pen will surely bring out the intricate beauty of these landmarks.
