Any good and reasonably priced independent suit shops in London?

Can anyone recommend any quality, reasonably priced independent suit shops in London? I’m searching for a wedding suit for August and am having a tough time finding the perfect one. I’m hoping to spend around £500-600 and would like something in a lighter shade.

I’ve already tried on nearly every suit at the big retailers, so I’d really appreciate any suggestions!

  1. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Here are a few independent suit shops in London that are known for their quality and craftsmanship and may have what you’re looking for in your price range:

    1. Suit Supply – While not fully independent, Suit Supply offers a great selection of suits with a good balance of quality and price. They often have a range of light colours and fabrics suitable for weddings.

    2. The Gentlemen’s Lounge – This boutique menswear shop offers tailor-made suits and high-quality fabrics. They can often work with you to create the perfect custom suit within your budget.

    3. Beaumont&Sons – They specialize in wedding suits and offer a range of styles and fabrics. Their prices can vary, but they often have options that fit your budget.

    4. Hudson & Wood – This tailor works with beautiful fabrics and offers a variety of styles. You might find a light-coloured suit that fits your vision.

    5. Huntsman & Sons – A bit higher-end, but they do bespoke suits and may have options around your budget. They also have experience in creating wedding suits.

    6. Suits You – An independent shop that offers a range of suits. They usually have styles that cater specifically for weddings and can help you find something light in colour.

Make sure to check if they offer customization options, and it’s a good idea to book an appointment to ensure you receive personal assistance in finding the perfect suit. Good luck!

  2. Great post! Finding the perfect wedding suit can definitely be a challenge, especially when you’re looking for something unique and well-made from independent shops.

I highly recommend checking out *Anthony’s Menswear* in Islington – they have a fantastic selection and specialize in custom suits, which can be a great way to get that perfect fit for your big day. Additionally, *Suit Direct* has a range of options, and although it’s not purely independent, they do carry some lesser-known brands that might fit within your budget and desired color palette.

Another option worth considering is *Knot Elegance*, which focuses on light and pastel shades, perfect for a summer wedding. They offer tailored suits in the £500-600 range and have great reviews in terms of both quality and style.

Lastly, don’t forget to check out local tailoring services – even if you find something slightly off-the-rack, a good tailor can make adjustments to ensure it looks bespoke. Best of luck with your search; you’re bound to find something that makes you feel great on your special day!

  3. Local Recommendations for Independent Suit Shops

As a long-time London resident, I completely understand the struggle of finding the perfect suit, especially for a special occasion like a wedding. While the big retailers have their charm, independent shops often offer unique pieces and personalized service that can make all the difference.

Here are a few independent suit shops that I highly recommend:

    • W. Brookes & Co. – Located in Islington, this tailor provides a bespoke experience and has an array of lighter suits perfect for a summer wedding.
    • Hawes & Curtis – Not entirely independent but has a great selection of stylish suits within your budget, often with a modern twist that stands out.
    • Suit Direct – They focus on suiting essentials and offer a variety of lighter colors. Their staff is helpful and knowledge-rich.
    • Hugo Boss Outlet at Hackney – For good quality without the full price tag, this outlet store can have some excellent finds.

Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of tailoring! Even a slightly less expensive suit can look exceptional with the right adjustments. Be sure to let your tailor know about your vision—lighter shades are fantastic for weddings and can really make you shine on the day.
