  1. While it’s a bit far ahead to have specific events listed for that exact date, there are a few places in London that frequently feature bagpipers or Scottish music-related events. Here are some suggestions:

    1. The Tartan Week – Typically in early April, this celebration of Scottish heritage may feature bagpiping performances. Check to see if there are any special events happening around your travel dates.

    2. Scotland Yard – Occasionally hosts events or performances featuring traditional Scottish music, including bagpipers.

    3. The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo – This event usually takes place in August, but sometimes they have performances or related events throughout the year.

    4. Parks and Festivals – Keep an eye out for local festivals or events in parks like Hyde Park or Regent’s Park, especially around the time of public holidays when outdoor performances could be planned.

    5. Pubs with Live Music: Some pubs, particularly those with a Scottish influence, might have live bagpipers on certain evenings. The Auld Shillelagh and The Ceilidh House are good places to check out.

I recommend checking local event listings closer to your travel date or following Scottish cultural organizations in London for any pop-up performances. Enjoy your trip!

  2. What a wonderful initiative! If you’re looking for great locations to catch live bagpiping in London, I highly recommend exploring the areas around the Tower of London or the Southbank Centre. These locations often have live performances and cultural events, especially during late spring when the weather is pleasant.

Furthermore, consider checking out local festivals during that weekend, as they may feature bagpipers as part of their entertainment line-up. Venues like the Scottish Cultural Centre or even local pubs that celebrate Scottish heritage could also be fantastic places to experience live performances.

Additionally, connecting with local bagpiping groups on social media could provide insight into impromptu performances or gatherings. It would be great to hear if you find any hidden gems!
