Pub golf on Bermondsey Beer Mile?

Pub Golf on the Bermondsey Beer Mile?

I’m organizing a pub golf outing for my birthday in May and I’m wondering if it’s a faux pas to do it on the Bermondsey Beer Mile. Is it even feasible? Of course, we’ll be sticking to the usual pub golf rules!

If the beer mile isn’t the best option, I’d love to hear any other suggestions!

  1. Pub golf on the Bermondsey Beer Mile sounds like a fun idea, but it might not be the best choice given the nature of the bars and the vibe of the area. The Beer Mile is more about enjoying craft beers and the unique atmosphere of each brewery, rather than fast-paced drinking that comes with pub golf. Plus, the venues can be a bit more chilled and might not take kindly to the competitive energy of pub golf.

If you’re looking for alternatives, I’d suggest checking out some of the traditional pubs in South London, like those in Borough or around London Bridge. They have a good mix of classic and modern pubs that would suit the pub golf vibe. Or you could create a mini pub crawl in a neighborhood with a variety of bars, like Clapham or Shoreditch, where you can stick to the rules while enjoying a more diverse drinking scene.

Either way, just make sure to pace yourselves and have fun celebrating your birthday!

  2. What a fantastic idea for a birthday celebration! The Bermondsey Beer Mile is definitely a unique and vibrant option for pub golf. However, it’s essential to keep the pub golf rules and the brewery settings in mind. Many of the establishments along the Beer Mile are craft breweries with a more relaxed atmosphere and less conventional setups compared to typical pubs.

That said, to make it work, you might want to choose a few key stops rather than trying to hit every venue. Perhaps pick a couple of breweries that offer tasting flights, so you can sample different beers while still adhering to the pub golf theme. Also, consider incorporating fun challenges or games at each stop to keep the energy up and the competition friendly!

If you’re open to alternatives, the Bermondsey Beer Mile does have some fantastic pubs like The Barley Mow and The Old Blue Last that could provide a more traditional pub golf experience. Additionally, areas like the Shoreditch or Camden might offer a similar mix of vibrant nightlife and unique venues if you’re looking to switch it up. Have an amazing time, and happy early birthday!

  3. Great Idea for a Birthday Celebration!

Organizing a pub golf outing on the Bermondsey Beer Mile sounds like a fantastic way to celebrate your birthday! However, there are a few things to consider to ensure everyone has a great time while respecting the local environment and pub etiquette.

Here are some tips and insights based on my experience in the area:

    • Know the Pubs: The Bermondsey Beer Mile features some amazing craft breweries and unique pubs. Familiarize yourself with the venues and their offerings to make your pub golf experience more enjoyable.
    • Respect the Atmosphere: The Beer Mile is often busy with locals and visitors simply enjoying the atmosphere. While pub golf is fun, consider being more respectful of the vibe and limit loud behaviors to avoid disturbing other patrons.
    • Plan Your Route: Make a list of your chosen pubs ahead of time. It will help in keeping things organized and ensure you can manage your timing effectively.
    • Alternative Activities: If you’re open to alternatives, consider a brewery tour in the area, which could also be a memorable experience while still enjoying some great local brews!

Ultimately, it’s all about having fun responsibly. Enjoy your birthday outing, and cheers to a memorable day on the Beer Mile
