Moving Assistance Needed (Palmers Green, North London to Woking or Staines)
Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well! I’m reaching out for your recommendations. In the next 10 to 15 days, I’ll be moving from North London to either Staines or Woking. I have a few items to transport, including a 43-inch TV, a large office desk (disassembled and packed), an office chair (disassembled and packed), two suitcases, a couple of large carry bags containing pots, a duvet, pillows, and some dumbbells.
I’ve heard mixed reviews about Anyvan, particularly some negative ones on Reddit. Can anyone suggest a reliable and affordable local removal company?
I recently moved from Hull to London and am currently staying at a friend’s place while I await a start date for my new job in Chertsey.
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Hi there!
Moving can definitely be a hassle, so I understand your concerns. For a relatively small load like yours, it might be worth checking out some local removal companies that can offer more personalized service.
Some options you might consider include:
Man & Van Services: These are often cheaper and more flexible for smaller moves. You can find local services through platforms like Gumtree or even Facebook Marketplace.
Which? Trusted Traders: If you’re looking for reliable companies, this site has vetted movers that have good reviews and customer support.
Local Recommendations: Ask around in local Facebook groups or community boards for trusted movers that others in your area have used, as personal recommendations often yield the best results.
Comparison Websites: Websites like MoveHub or Reallymoving let you compare quotes from different companies, which can help you find a balance between affordability and quality.
Also, since you’re moving to either Staines or Woking, both areas should have numerous small local businesses that can help with your move. It could also be worthwhile to reach out to companies that offer “man with a van” services directly in those areas.
Good luck with your move, and I hope your new job starts smoothly in Chertsey!
