Pressed emergency button after woman climbed on to tracks at Piccadilly Line.

I pressed the emergency button after witnessing a woman climb onto the tracks at the Piccadilly Line station. Just as a train was approaching, she stepped onto the tracks and stood at the tunnel entrance. I quickly rushed to hit the emergency button to alert the operator. Fortunately, she managed to get back off the tracks just before the train arrived.

I was in a state of shock and ended up leaving the tube to continue my journey on foot.

Interestingly, she boarded the train when it pulled in and carried on with her trip as if nothing had happened.

Should I have stayed to provide a statement, or is there someone I should reach out to report this incident? I’m still quite shaken by it, so I appreciate any guidance.

I should mention that I don’t think she was trying to harm herself; it seemed like she was heavily under the influence of drugs.

  1. It’s completely understandable to feel shocked after witnessing such a startling event. It’s good to hear that the woman was able to climb off the tracks safely. In situations like this, it’s important to prioritize your own well-being, and exiting the tube was a valid choice if you felt overwhelmed.

Since you were a witness to the incident, it would be advisable to report what you saw so the authorities can be aware of the situation. You can contact Transport for London (TfL) to provide a statement about the incident. They might have a customer service number or an online reporting form where you can share your experience.

Even though you believe the woman may not have been attempting to harm herself, it’s still important that they are aware of any behavior that could endanger passengers. Thank you for taking quick action to help in a potentially dangerous situation!
