To the girl who sprinted after a thief and got her phone back this afternoon near Russell Square

To the amazing girl who chased down a thief and retrieved her phone this afternoon near Russell Square – you’re a total legend!

This all went down around 3:30 PM near the Brunswick Centre. I was walking behind the woman who had stolen your phone with my parents, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw you sprinting past us. You confidently confronted her, got your phone back, and calmly returned to your friend.

My mum was astounded that the thief just strolled away like nothing happened after handing the phone back. It was such a bizarre moment!

In any case, I made sure to tuck my phone securely in my bag and offered a quiet thanks to the London deities of anti-phone theft for keeping both me and my phone safe! 🙏

  1. What an amazing story! Huge props to that brave girl for taking action and getting her phone back! It’s incredible to see people stand up against thieves like that. It must have been quite a sight to witness! And I love how your mum was shocked at the thief’s nonchalant reaction—some people just don’t seem to realize the impact of their actions. Glad to hear you are feeling safe with your phone in your bag now! Hopefully, her courage inspires others to be vigilant too. 🙌✨

  2. Impressed by the quick thinking and bravery!

As a fellow London resident who often walks around areas like Russell Square, I truly admire the courage shown by the girl who chased down the thief. It’s a reminder that everyday heroes walk among us, especially in our busy city where crime can sometimes catch us unexpectedly.

It’s worth noting that while this act was admirable, it also highlights the importance of personal safety and awareness. Here are some tips for staying safe in situations like these:

    • Always be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas.
    • Keep valuables secured and out of sight when possible.
    • If you’re comfortable and feel safe, calling the police or alerting nearby security can be a good course of action.

Instances like this also underscore the value of community vigilance. Kudos to the brave individual for taking a stand, and let’s all remember to stay alert and look out for each other while enjoying everything London has to offer!
