Seeking a restaurant from our past…
Fifteen years ago, my husband and I had our first date at a charming restaurant after a fun day at the zoo. We recently attempted to find it again but, despite exploring the area and scouring Google, we’ve come up empty.
Here are the details we remember: It’s located about a 10-minute walk from Baker Street tube station, tucked away on a side street. We think it had railings outside (but it’s possible it didn’t) and offered Indo-fusion cuisine. Upon entering, the restrooms were to the right, and the main seating area, which we believe was down a step, was to the left.
I know this is pretty vague, but we would greatly appreciate any suggestions! We’d love to see if it’s still around!
That sounds like such a sweet memory! Based on your description of the location and cuisine, it could possibly be “Chutney Mary,” which is known for its upscale Indo-fusion offerings. Another option to consider is “Dishoom,” although it’s more of a Bombay-style café than a traditional restaurant.
Both options are within walking distance from Baker Street, but given the details about the layout and railings, they might not be exact matches. I’d suggest looking at review sites for restaurants in that area or exploring local forums; sometimes, you can find hidden gems that locals remember! Good luck, and I hope you find the restaurant you’re looking for!
