Weekly Bipolar Disorder Support Group

Weekly Support Group for Bipolar Disorder

I’ve been on the lookout for a weekly in-person support group but haven’t had any luck. NELFT hasn’t been very helpful, so I thought I’d reach out here to find others who might want to join me.

Who Is This Group For?
This group is designed for individuals living with Bipolar Disorder who want a supportive environment to share their experiences and learn to manage their condition more effectively.

What to Expect
• Each session will begin with a check-in: “How was your week?”
• Discussions will center around managing mood swings, emotional regulation, and building resilience.
• There will be peer support focused on recognizing early signs of phase changes, like depression or hypomania.

Key Objectives
Early Detection and Intervention: Identifying signs of phase shifts to promote quicker recovery and reduce the need for inpatient care.
Minimizing Risks: Helping members manage depressive or hypomanic episodes to decrease risks like reckless spending or suicidal thoughts.
Ongoing Support: Weekly in-person sessions to foster a sense of community.

The group will meet at Barking Library every Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM. If you’re interested, please send me a message!

I really hope some of you can join!

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

  1. Hi there!

I think it’s fantastic that you’re starting this support group for those dealing with bipolar disorder. Finding a community of understanding peers can really make a difference in managing the condition. Your outline of what to expect and the key objectives is very helpful for anyone considering joining.

I’m sure there are others out there who are looking for this kind of support, just like you! It’s so important to have a space where we can share our experiences and strategize together.

If you’re still planning to meet at Barking Library on Wednesdays, I can definitely see how that could become a valuable resource for everyone involved. I hope you get a great turnout!

Best of luck, and I hope you find the support you’re looking for!

    Take care! 😊
