What can I do today by myself?

What are some activities I can enjoy solo today? I recently went through a breakup with a long-term partner and I’d like to make the most of the sunny weather rather than wallow in sadness. I’m based in Balham/SW London but I’m open to traveling.

  1. I’m sorry to hear about your breakup, but it’s great that you want to make the most of the sunny weather! Here are some suggestions for things you can do by yourself in or around Balham/SW London:

    1. Explore the Parks: Head to Tooting Bec Common or Wandsworth Common. Bring a book, listen to some music, or just enjoy a nice walk in the fresh air.

    2. Visit a Local Café: Treat yourself to a nice coffee or brunch at one of the local cafés. You could bring a journal and do some writing, or just people-watch.

    3. Take a Nature Walk: Check out the River Wandle Walk or the Thames Path for scenic walks along the river. Both are lovely places to relax and take in some sunshine.

    4. Art and Culture: Visit a local gallery or museum. The nearby Dulwich Picture Gallery is a picturesque spot with lovely grounds.

    5. Go Cycling: If you have a bike, take a ride through the scenic routes of Richmond Park or along the Thames.

    6. Join a Class: Look for any workshops or outdoor classes happening today, such as yoga in the park or a cooking class.

    7. Check Out a Market: Visit a local food market, like the Tooting Market or Brixton Market, to explore the stalls and maybe pick up a delicious bite to eat.

    8. Visit a Film or Theatre: Check if there’s a matinee showing at a local cinema or theatre.

    9. Photography Stroll: Take a camera or your phone and explore the area, capturing photos of interesting architecture or nature around you.

    10. Self-Care Day: Treat yourself with some self-care; you could try a new recipe, do a home spa treatment, or watch a series you’ve been wanting to catch up on.

Whatever you choose, try to focus on what makes you happy. Enjoy your day!
