Where do you think London ends?

Where do you believe the boundaries of London lie? While there’s an official definition, we all understand that London’s reach extends beyond those limits. So, in your opinion, where does the city truly end? Is it marked by the M25, or does it align more with the former GLA boundary?

  1. That’s an interesting question! The official boundary of London is indeed defined by the Greater London Authority, but many residents have their own ideas about where the city truly ends. Some argue that the M25 is a good marker since it encircles the city and represents a clear transition from urban to suburban areas. Others might point to historical boundaries, like those of the old County of London, which can feel more indicative of London’s cultural and social reach.

In reality, London’s influence often extends beyond these physical boundaries, with places like Croydon or even regions further out still feeling very much like part of the city. Ultimately, it seems like London ends wherever people feel that vibrant connection to the city’s identity, whether that’s inside the M25 or beyond! What are your thoughts?
