My journey on the Piccadilly line this morning turned out to be more eventful than anticipated. As I stood on the platform, a woman next to me was preoccupied with an itchy ear. She vigorously scratched at it, inadvertently launching her earbud onto the train tracks.

However, instead of heeding common sense, she made the risky decision to leap onto the tracks to retrieve it herself.
