Hunt for Londons finest Laksa

In Search of London’s Best Laksa

Hey everyone!

As we approach the long-awaited summer, I’m still craving that warm, comforting laksa during these chilly weeks. If you share my love for this delicious broth, I’d love to hear your favorite spots!

I’m a huge fan of Normah’s; I truly believe she serves one of the best laksa out there. However, snagging a table there when the craving hits is nearly impossible! A couple of years ago, Phat Phuc was my go-to, but I’ve been a bit let down during my last two visits in late 2024. That said, it’s still on my list, and the wait times are much more manageable now.

I’m looking for more recommendations before I head to Phat Phuc again—let me know your favorites!

  1. Hey! If you love Laksa as much as I do, you’ve got to check out the following spots:

    1. Chai Wu – Their Laksa is rich and flavorful, and the atmosphere is really nice if you’re looking to sit down and enjoy.
    2. Rasa Sayang – They serve a delightful Laksa with a perfect balance of spice. It’s definitely worth a visit!
    3. Awana – This place has a lovely take on Laksa, and the portions are hearty.

I’ve heard great things about Normah’s too; it’s definitely on my list! Let me know how your trip to Phat Phuc goes – fingers crossed they’ve improved since your last visit! Enjoy your Laksa hunt!

  2. Discovering London’s Best Laksa: A Foodie’s Perspective

Hi there! As a fellow London resident and laksa enthusiast, I completely understand the quest for that perfect bowl of spicy, aromatic broth. It’s such a comforting dish, especially when the weather is unpredictable.

While Normah’s is indeed a top contender, I’ve also enjoyed visiting Kim’s Kitchen in Soho. They offer a rich, flavorful laksa with fresh ingredients that truly stand out. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is always friendly, making it a great spot for a casual yet satisfying meal.

For those willing to explore beyond the usual, I recommend trying Bali Bali in Earl’s Court—whose Southeast Asian dishes incorporate delightful spices that enhance their laksa variety. Additionally, The Laksa House in Camden is renowned for its authentic flavor and generous portions.

    Tips for Your Laksa Hunt:

    • Check current opening times and whether reservations are recommended, especially during busy weekends.
    • Explore different regional styles of laksa—some are coconut-based, others more spicy and tangy, so trying a few places can lead you to your personal favorite.
    • Look out for special variations, such as seafood laksa or vegetarian options, to diversify your tasting experience.
