Seeking Assistance: Donations of Kitten Formula and Food for Abandoned Cats in London
Recently, I found myself caring for two abandoned kittens under unexpected circumstances. The older cat, approximately one year of age, was a neighbor’s pet who had been left outside after her owner acquired a dog earlier this year. Over time, I became increasingly concerned about her health, as she appeared to be losing weight and was often seen outside my residence, seeking food.
Over the weekend, we noticed she had not been around for some time. On Wednesday, I discovered her in the bin closet, caring for a single surviving newborn kitten. Recognizing her vulnerable state, I brought both mother and kitten indoors, with my neighbor’s consent, and attended to their immediate needs. Both were treated for fleas, kept warm, and fed.
Fortunately, initially they appeared to be in reasonable health. However, by Thursday, the kitten’s condition changed. It was crying persistently and seemed less plump, prompting me to seek advice from a veterinary nurse via phone consultation. She suggested the mother cat might have low milk production and recommended supplementing the kitten’s diet with formula milk. I have been doing this, but the cost is significant — approximately £8 for a small tub. Additionally, she advised feeding the mother cat a special nutritional food called Carny, which could help stimulate milk production.
At this stage, I am reaching out to the community for support. If there are any charities, animal rescue organizations, or individuals in London willing to donate kitten formula or Carny food, it would be immensely appreciated. Your assistance could make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of these vulnerable animals.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. Any leads or contacts you can offer would be gratefully received.
