Discovering Taiwan: An Underrated Gem Worth Exploring
This past May, I spent ten remarkable days in northern Taiwan, and I can confidently say that this destination left an unforgettable impression on me.
Upon arriving in the city, I was met with the typical heat and humidity, but a short journey into the mountains revealed a refreshing crispness in the air. One of the most astonishing aspects of Taiwan is its incredible diversity; this small island boasts stunning beaches, breathtaking mountain ranges, picturesque waterfalls, and even ancient temples perched on dramatic cliffs.
The warmth and hospitality of the locals added to the charm of my experience. The culinary delights were simply exceptional—we indulged in dishes that made our taste buds dance and might have unintentionally added a few pounds to our waistlines! Even meals from local convenience stores like 7-11 were surprisingly delicious. We enjoyed hearty, mouthwatering meals for mere dollars, all while navigating a well-developed infrastructure that felt welcoming and accessible. Among all the East Asian countries I’ve visited, Taiwan stands out as the most affordable without compromising on quality.
And let’s not forget about the waterfalls; they are truly a sight to behold. During my stay, I lost track after counting at least 20 different cascades, each more stunning than the last.
If you’re planning a trip to East Asia, make sure to include Taiwan in your itinerary. This extraordinary island is a hidden gem that deserves your attention—trust me, you won’t regret it!
